In 2015, it was a challenging and stressful year for me, Mr Wayne Han and Mr Raymond Yeo were passionate and supportive during my preparations for O’ levels. For Mr Han, his clear-cut explanations for tedious and complex mathematical and science concepts made A- Math and Physics easier to comprehend. As for Mr Yeo, I really enjoyed his lessons, and his method of teaching was a meomorable experience for me.

Despite English being a dull subject for me, Mr Yeo used different approaches during his lessons, and surprisingly, English turned out to be interesting for me.

Though I often encountered A-Math and the Physics related problems during my preparation, Mr Han continued to be patient with me and never gave up guiding me. Not only did he encourage his students to start studying early, he also made the effort to stay back with us to solve our problems, so that we could do well and not give up. His jovial and dedicated attitude towards teaching really piqued my interest in A-Maths and Physics. The most striking part about Mr Han is his willingness to become a friend to his students. He understands the adolescent mind very well and can effectively help his students, thereby leading them on the correct path. When the O’Levels were round the corner, I was confident about doing well for A-Math and Physics. Thanks to Mr Han’s unwavering support, I managed to fare well for O’Level A-Math and Physics. Perhaps Mr Han’s support in Physics and Math has built a strong foundation in me, so I have decided to take on HL in Math and Physic in the IB Programme.

The Project Ace Learning Centre(PALC) experience has helped me to achieve my goals. PALC is a place where I can share my problems with fellow tuition mates and teachers.

Testimonial by Mrs Velina Collins (Michael's mum):
Dear Mr Han

Michael started his JC journey today at his first choice of VJC. My husband and I would like to thank you for playing a critical role in Michael’s academic success.

We still remember the concern his teachers had at the end of Sec 1, start of Sec 2. Based on his PSLE results, Michael should be in the upper half of his class but he wasn’t.  His result was deteriorating.

It was then that Michael heard about Project Ace Learning Centre from his classmate.  We were happy for him to go for the tuition to get the needed help.  But, we were really thankful that beyond the academic help, we noticed that over time, Michael’s motivation was recharged.   We didn’t have to push him to study at all as he was highly-motivated and self-driven.  For his `O’ Level exams, Michael set himself the high target of a raw score of 6.  We are delighted for his achievement.

We credit you for this important change in Michael’s attitude towards his studies. More than just helping Michael to understand Maths and Science concepts, your real interest in your student has spurred them on.   You are happy to go past the tuition hours and your students are happy to stay on.  You spend time with them outside of the classroom.  You share life with your students; you genuinely care for them.

Thus far, I have recommended you and your Centre to a few friends.  Their children have similar experience; they really like having you as a tutor.

We are not overstating it when we say - without your involvement, Michael’s `O’ Levels results could look quite different.   So, thank you again Mr Han, for partnering us in helping Michael realize his academic potential and achieving his goal for JC.

 Warmest Regards
